Midwest SUPper Club
The Midwest SUPper Club was established in 2020.
Mission:
Establish a collaborative network of interdisciplinary professionals working in perinatal substance disorder treatment in the Midwestern United States that strives to improve care, provide mentorship and education, and create opportunities for research partnerships.
Provide and enhance clinical expertise regarding perinatal substance use disorders and disseminate best practice recommendations that are framed within trauma-informed and harm reduction care models.
Provide accessible information for clinicians working in the field of perinatal substance use disorders.
Use collaborative knowledge to evaluate policies surrounding perinatal substance use at a state level to identify advocacy targets.
Goals for 2023:
Maintain support for low/no-cost annual perinatal substance use conference, which is accessible (i.e. hybrid or virtual)
Grow to 50 members located within the Midwest (IA, WI, ND, SD, NE, WI, OH, MO, IL, MI)
Develop a working collaboration for research/manuscript development - goal of one project by 2023.
